| Pappy's World has sent notice to President Barrack Obama and the United States Senate that we are willing to assist with the economic stimulation of our great nation. We have provided the President and our congressional leaders with an in depth proposal describing our plan to assist manufacturers, retailers, service providers and consumers during this economic downturn. Our proposal, if accepted by the government, will allow the American business owner the opportunity to market and promote his product, business or service to consumers as well as one another here at Pappy's World at no cost. Our plan further provides for exhibitor participation and consumer admissions in all Pappy's World hosted conventions at no cost. It is and always has been our believe that in order for any business to thrive and grow it is imperative that they have the means available to advertise and promote their products or services to one another as well as to the consumer. Given the current economic situation business owners are permanently closing their doors at an alarming rate. Those that struggle to survive have cut costs at all corners. While trying to meet payroll expenses, rent payments and material costs it is unfortunate that most business owners have had to drastically cut or all together forego any means of advertising. The lack of competitive advertising will quickly diminish the exposure and ultimate sales of any company regardless of size. To quote a paragraph written in a report by AP retail writers Emily Fredrix and Ashley Heher; "Times are tough for small business owners, those whom politicians tout as the backbone of America. As the recession marches on, it's those businesses, which employ about half of the country's private sector workers, that are particularly vulnerable to the squeeze." | UPDATE March 24 2009 Senator Harry Reid says we've done enough! |
| After a great deal of correspondence on our part we finally received our first letter from Senator Harry Reid which was dated March 24 2009. True to political form and, at least in our opinion Senator Reid has failed to grasp the concept of just how dire times are for the small business owner. Within his letter he took the liberty to inform us of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which Obama signed into law on February 17 of 2009. He continued to tell us that the Treasury Department has committed itself to increasing the credit available for the small business owner, an initiative that will provide the business owner with the credit they would need to sustain their immediate demands. We've decided to show his letter in full right here so that you may see his comments and opinions for yourself. We've also posted our response to his letter.
